I conducted an experiment using an Arduino Board and LEDs to provide ambient information about the weather forecast. I used the Arduino and Processing code from my earlier posts along with a PHP file used to scrape the information off the Yahoo! website. The Arduino receives the weather forecast via Yahoo RSS Feeds and changes the colour of the LEDs to represent the forecasted temperature, for example the LED’s fade from red which represents very high temperature to blue which represents very low temperature. This experiment has proved very useful and relevant for the development of my project and I will explore and consider using Arduino for future prototypes.

On the right it shows three LEDs (by mixing red, green and blue I can make any colour light) connected to the Arduino Board, which is then connected to a computer via USB. On the left it shows the final prototype while the LEDs are representing the temperature in Cork.
