Interaction with Everyday Objects

20 Oct

At this point it is also important for me to understand how people interact with everyday objects. I am reading about the “The psychology of Everyday Things” and “The Design of Everyday Things” both books written by Don Norman. It’s very interesting to learn about how so-called human errors are actual errors in design and the important concepts outlined for designing products. Although this is not directly associated with how we interact with objects it is fascinating to learn about how we should be designing products.

Perhaps an experiment I will undertake at a later stage could be to identify how a person interacts with a familiar object in comparison to how they interact with a completely unfamiliar object.
