Areas of Interest

I am now looking at how we could monitor our lives and in particular our actions within our home (MONITORING BEHAVIOR IN HOME USING A SMART FALL SENSOR AND POSITION SENSORS). Perhaps a system that monitors all technology within the home?

Although I briefly touched on this topic it somehow led me to an MIT Tangible Media Project (Tangible Media Lab) which aims at turning everyday objects into information carriers. I later came across this project again in the Ars Electronica – Cyber Arts 2009 book.

A toaster receives weather forecasts via Yahoo RSS feeds and are baked onto bread through the use of easy to understand symbols. E.g. an umbrella for rain or a sun or a cloud etc.

I found this project very interesting and from this I raised the question: “What if instead of using everyday objects as information carriers where we take information off the computer (internet) and give it to everyday objects, we take information off the everyday objects and give it to the computer?”
